So I’m at work today buying my sister her valentine and at one of the registers filling out her card and talking to my manager when my co-workers comes over and tells the manager that she’s about to refuse an alcohol sale. I turn around to see one of my regular customers very intoxicated trying to buy a few bottles of wine. My co worker and manager tell her they can’t sell her any more alcohol because she is already too drunk. She then starts crying and begging ‘but please, I need it’.. At this point I’m heartbroken and wanting to cry and she leaves. My co workers start talking shit about how it’s 9am and she’s already so drunk. “pathetic” they say… I turn to them and say ‘stop you guys, her heart just hurts’ and then walk out to my car and cry my eyes out.
Moral of the story is that no matter how much I love valentines day, it breaks my heart that so many people today are miserable and heart broken. My only wish is that one day they can realize that valentines day isn’t just about having a bf or gf, it’s about the love you have for family and friends too
